ELITE FOOTBALL LEAGUE (EFL)

1-HAND TOUCH RULEBOOK 2024

 

As many teams will be playing in EFL to prepare for TFON tournaments, EFL will be enforcing the TFON rulebook with a few exceptions as stated below.

  1. Game Duration

    • The duration of each game is approximately forty minutes composed of 2 24-minute halves of running time.

    • Due to restrictions on light permits imposed by the Town of Ajax, EFL had to amend the total game duration.

  2. Continuous Timing 

    • As per the TFON rules, time runs continuously during the two halves. However, special timing rules are implemented during the last 3 minutes of each half. To learn more about these rules, please refer to Rule 6 of the TFON rule book.​

Equipment

  1. Uniforms

    • All players must wear either team jersey's or shades of their team jerseys.

    • Players must have their unique number displayed on the back of their jersey

    • If a player is not wearing a numbered jersey, stats will not be kept for this player

    • Any duplicated numbers will also not have their stats recorded 

    • The wearing of jewelry is strictly prohibited.

    • Pants/shorts without pockets are recommended.

  2. Shoes

    • Athletic shoes including those with rubber cleats are permitted.

    • Athletic shoes with metal cleats are strictly prohibited.

  3. Protective Equipment

    • Mouth guards are highly recommended.

  4. Player Equipment

    • Any challenge regarding equipment compliance shall be decided by the head referee prior to each game.

Leaderboard

  1. Win = 3 points

  2. Loss = 0 points

  3. Tie = 1 point

Leaderboard is based on the W-L-T record. However, if it is still tied, the total number of points scored will be used to break the tie. If it is still tied, the least amount of INTs thrown will be used.

 

Playoff Format/Tie Breaker Procedures

  1. Playoff Format

    • The playoff format is dependent on the number of teams/divisions in the league.

    • Players must play a minimum of 3 games in regular season in order to be eligible for playoffs. A cancelled/rained out game counts as attended.

    • Team win-loss record will be the 1st deciding factor for seeding

      • If there is a tie in the win-loss record, the total number of points at the end of the regular season will be the deciding factor to determine seeding

      • If it is still tied, the least amount of INTs thrown will be used.
